Thus, when address is configured to be 550020004010, it will be interpreted as aa004000208 (now we have the RI bit on!). The frame will be either transmitted with incorrect address format or discarded on the adapter (mib ocIfOutErrors) based on address. THIS PROBLEM WILL NOT HAPPEN IF IP AND/OR IPX ARE ALSO CONFIGURED ALONG WITH THE ABOVE PROTOCOLS. APARTXT NA01669 = The gated dumped is caused by sysmon starts the second copy of gated. When gatedcfgd issues the "smact restart gated", sysmon sends a SIGKILL to a non-existing gated pid and then start a second copy of gated. The fix is that sysmon should change its method of sending SIGKILL to the right pid of gated. APARTXT NA01369 = miscellaneous remote install problems: 1. the 6611 server does not have an address mapped to the host name, the rinstall does not correctly determine the ip address of the server. Subsequent FTPs fail but don't report any failure. The rinstall continues 2. ri_tmplt still says that clear=yes is the default. It isn't 3. rimon doesn't use the .netrc if the server is a 6611 4. rimon gives a message: rimon 111 :tput:not found. Screen is not cleared between status reports. APARTXT NA01373 = Files can be "lost" when transfered among routers via the tape backup/restore facility. Files with invalid (or non-existant) ownership fields will not be restored (and will be lost from the view of the receiving router). APARTXT NA01443 = TIME GIVEN BY TSH (FASTPATH) IS DIFFERENT THAN TIME GIVEN BY RSH (RSHELL) BY VALUE OF TIME ZONE OFFSET. IT APPEARS THAT THE TIME ZONE ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE IS LOST OR NOT SET IN RSHELL. APARTXT NA01869 = A client residing on a serverless LAN with more than one (1) 6611 routers will not get responses to nearest server queries IF these 6611 routers (attached to that same LAN) learned about services (of the type the client is requesting for) through other interfaces. Example network configuration: Server A |----[6611A]-------(T/R)-------[6611B]------| Server B Type 4 | Type 4 Client In the above example, the Client will not get responses to its Query Nearest Server broadcasts because 6611A is mistaken that Server (service) B is on the same LAN with the Client. The same mistake applies to 6611B and Server A. APARTXT NA02058 = A change in time needs to support years up to 2037. APARTXT NA02093 = When we receive a RESTARTLS Msg we respond with an SSP Msg with Type=0 followed by a LSRESTARTED Msg. The first msg is bogus and should not be sent. APARTXT NA02118 = Internal Enhancements for NP00601 APARTXT NA01915 = gated restart script is trying to kill gated by using a saved pid. This pid is sometimes wrong. Changed command to udump so that correct gated is killed. APARTXT NA02105 = Internal Enhancements for NP00385 APARTXT NA02112 = Internal Enhancements for NP00385 APARTXT NA02186 = gatedcfgd needs to generate more error info APARTXT NA02223 = The following fixes ensure that the lsdb_border pointer is cleared for SUM_NETs, SUM_ASBs, and ASEs when the ABR/ASBR is not "active". Otherwise, inactive ABR/ASBRs can be freed and re-allocated to other ABR/ASBRs, which can easily cause routing loops. In addition, since the lsdb_route and lsdb_ab_rtr pointers are unioned, an lsdb with a route may be confused for an active ABR and cause a core. -- Richard Woundy APARTXT NA02257 = Internal Enhancements for NP00620 APARTXT NA02510 = Incorrect logging of error when LNM linking is not completed. Remove logging. APARTXT NA02462 = The DLSw Capabilities Exchange function was coded to respond negatively to any Control Vector that it does not know about. This will make it very difficult for customers to migrate to newer versions of code where new Control Vectors exist. The code should be changed to just ignore all Control Vectors that are unknown to the 6611. STOP_SYMPTOM START_TEST Create a DLSw partnership between a 6611 and a 2210 running the latest level of code. This version has new Control Vectors. Check that the CapEx works and the partnership is established. APARTXT NA02600 = ifconfig status does not display the up/down status of point-to-point links on a non-fully meshed FR interface. 2) ifconfig status does not show the "framing method" (PPP, FR, SMDS) configured on serial interfaces. APARTXT NA02605 = Current file size of pd_ipxd.tables set in sysmon.file is 1M which is too small for customer's ipx networks (about 1.4M). So when customer generated an ipx dump to serach for the server names, customer could not view the file because the file has been pruned and became 0 bytes in content. APARTXT NA02610 = A timing problem was encountered at the State of Georgia account where one router believes he is in OSPF Full state with another router who believe he is in OSPF Exstart state. APARTXT NA02609 = Negative NetBIOS name caching not working right for all network configurations. APARTXT NA02641 = The problem is related to the specific FR point-to-point configu defined on the router. The 6611 has supported multiple IP addres on a given interface, but in this configuration, there are multi IP addresses on the serial interface and each is the same. Becau of this, the MIB logic that handles the ipAddressTable is defici and gets into an infinite loop when it comes to this interface w duplicate addresses. APARTXT NA02667 = /testbin/ospf_sock should allowing more filtering of IP and OSPF header output. APARTXT NA02668 = K ping from Windows/95 will kill AIX. Possibly MPNP as well. Fix ported from Austin AIX development. APARTXT NA02644 = pd_sysmon.trc shows repeated restarts of GateD daemon even though it is already started. It is believed that sysmon gets ahold of a pid number that is not correct for GateD and loops on a GateD process restart when in fact GateD is already running. Local Fix: Reboot the router APARTXT NA02670 = Mondisk moving files caused pd_x25d.out files handles to be lost by x25d.c and no further debug output would be written to pd_x25d.out. Now it is. Also see more device names written so facilitate understanding multiple adapter scenarios. APARTXT NA02678 = A customer was losing mbufs, and the router would eventually lock up. It was a very slow loss. Traces showed AppleTalk NBP and ZIP frames were lost. The customer had configured AppleTalk on all the links, but was not using it. The links were configured as non-seed. The problem is in at_input.c where received AppleTalk frames that weren't RTMP frames were not being freed when the link was in a "need seed" state. I am also submitting changes to at_tree.c for another mbuf loss problem, plus util.c and k_mib.c in the atd daemon for an atd growth problem. APARTXT NA02679 = pd_x25d.out gets pruned at 10000 bytes. That is not enough. APARTXT 22930 = As we are all painfully aware, this all started when it was noted tha t the v1r3_p383fx release did not have fix for 17889 and Freightliner wante d it. Further investigation led us to know that the task to incorporate jus t 17889 into the fx release would not be easy since some of the 14 files affe cted were involved in several other defects which preceded the 17889 and since there was also a fix to 17889 which came after several other defects after 17889. In a ddition, investigation showed that even if 17889 and the fix to it were includ ed, there were several other pretty severe defects which should be included. 22930 incorporates all the above defects. APARTXT NA02687 = inventory changes for FX602nn of v1r3_p383fx APARTXT NA02681 = only changing sccs_id and bogus comment in dls/sysx/dlc/Makefile, so there's nothing to test other than making sure it builds. APARTXT NA02663 = Token-Ring EIB will stop receiving frames but will continue to transmit. This will happen on the old or the cost reduced token- ring adapter. This problem will be seen when the adapter receives a jabber frames. Currently this frames are not discarded by the daughter card which causes a standoff situation between the adapter and daughter card code (since all the buffers are used up by the daughter card waiting for adapter to release buffers, which it does not since its low water mark is not reached and awaits completion of current (ie. jabber) frame).. This fix in daughter card code will handle such a situation by dropping jabber frames (releasing buffers). APARTXT NA02682 = When a LSA gets stuck on a retransmission queue and the timer goes off the regenerate all the summary LSA's, a core dump can occur. APARTXT NA02665 = Another router who's mtu is set excessively large sends ospf frame and 6611 gated crashes along with truncating. APARTXT NA02696 = From Config. tool, one can configure up to 64 ip addresses over X.25 port (the default is 20). But through System Manager, Configuraton--System Manager Configuration Utility -- Add Configurati on Element to a list object---port level---X.25 adapter--list of IP Para meters of X.25. only up to 13 IP/X.25 mapping is allowed which is not adequate. APARTXT 22954 = Merry Christmas STOP_SYMPTOM APARTXT 22956 = For the AppleTalk component, upgrade v1r3_p383fx to the same level as v1r3 by submitting the files changed by defects 21588, 21838, 19393, 21617, 21845, 20958. APARTXT NA02700 = Symptom is not recreatable in lab. Need to have DCE with congestion which eventually leads to restarting multiple logical channels. Just make sure X.25 comes up OK. APARTXT 22963 = Implement defects 19614,21544,21680,21732,21979 in p602 stream APARTXT NA02703 = There is a problem in formating kernel trace using ospf_sock tool (option -t). APARTXT 22969 = Internal Enhancements APARTXT 23004 = When LANREAD receives a DLC_STAS_RES exception while in HALTLS_NO_ACK state, it sends a message with type 0 to its DLSw partner. No message should be sent when in this state. APARTXT 23019 = In lanread.c, when processing a DLC_STAS_RES we issue a DLC_CONTACT when in CONT_RECD_PEND_xxx state. If it fails, we will send a message with type 0 to our partner. No message should be sent in this case. This defect is for v1r3_p383fx only!!!! This bug has been fixed in the mainstream code by defect 23004.
